ABOUT THE CO-AUTHOR, STEPH JOHNSON
An Emmy award-winning journalist with more than two decades of media, integrated marketing, public relations, and crisis communications expertise, Stephanie (Steph) Johnson is the CEO & Founder of BrandDNA Group, a public relations and communications consultancy that specializes in serving brands driving innovation for the good of humanity.
Steph has a proven track record of creating and delivering compelling stories and messages to advance the missions and visions of the brands she’s served. In addition to her titled consultant roles at Kulur Group and Ragan Consulting Group, Steph previously served as Senior Vice President of Enterprise Communications
at the American Cancer Society (ACS), where she helped to re-imagine ACS’s strategic blueprint for internal and external communications, executive thought leadership platform and crisis/issues management response protocols.
Prior to her role at ACS, Steph spent a year expanding her expertise at Hotwire Global, an International Public Relations Agency. As VP and Communications Strategist, Steph helped to create global thought leadership platforms and brand positioning blueprints for some of the world’s leading Tech brands.
Before branching out as a brand champion and communications thought leader, Steph spent nearly a decade as VP of Communications & Product Strategies at the American Medical Association (AMA). Prior to her role at the AMA, she served as VP of Public Affairs for Advocate Aurora Health. A journalist by education and training, Steph got her start in television working for ABC News World News Tonight with Peter Jennings and Good Morning America. She has also served as a freelance producer for the Chicago Bureaus of ABC & NBC News and as a TV news anchor for 16 WAPT News, an ABC News affiliate in her home state of Mississippi.
Steph graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Speech and Dramatic Arts.
